Client Brief

Andrew and Carla have created a unique four-star boutique–style guesthouse in central Bath. As the garden would be the first impression the visitors had of the hotel my brief was to design a distinctive, simple, English style garden that would compliment and enhance the Brooks guesthouse brand.

Outcome

Several design proposals were put forward but the clear winner was the simple, rhythmic structure of a large grouping of clipped box balls within linear stone tramlines and edged by distinctive shaped Lavender beds. Flint gravel is used throughout to enhance the impact of the planting scheme with the additional benefit
of low maintenance.

Stage two was completed in summer 2009 and compliments first stage with a repeat of the Box balls and Lavender beds.

Client Testimonial

Andrew Brooks

I would highly recommend Steve, he understood what we were trying to achieve, showed great creativity and has always acted in a straightforward, professional manner.  The garden he created for us was a crucial statement for us as it is one of the first elements of our product that the customer sees when arriving at Brooks Guesthouse and needed to reflect our interior design ethos of classic design with a modern twist.  We felt Steve executed this superbly with his use of box balls and lavender, classic plants arranged in a contemporary format.

We found Steve great fun to work with and will definitely call upon his services again for future projects!
